Segment Setup

1. Add a webhook destination

In Segment, click "Add Destination" and select "Webhooks (Actions)". Then click "Configure Webhooks (Actions)" and select the source of the event data you want to send.

2. Add a new mapping to the destination

After adding the destination, navigate to the "Mapping" tab. Click "New mapping" and select the "Send" type.

3. Add event filters to the mapping

Add filters for the events you want to send to Sumatra. To send all events, add a filter for each event type and set the filter to "any."

4. Add the Sumatra URL and secret API key

In the "Select mappings" section, use the values below.

Webhook URL

https://api.sumatra.ai/event

Batch size

1

Event variable

For Event variable, use your secret Sumatra API Key.

Key name

x-api-key

5. Enable the mapping and the destination.

After testing the mapping, click "save" then toggle the mapping status to "Enabled". Return to the "Settings" tab and click the "Enable destination" toggle.

Warning

If you don’t enable the mapping AND the destination, Segment won't send your events to Sumatra.
